Who is Erica Davis?
TV and Radio Presenter. Voiceover Artist. Emcee. Vocalist. ENFJ. Wife. Daughter. Sister. Mother.
Erica’s journey into the world of media officially began with her completion of a Bachelor of Arts in Television Production in 1997. But truth be told, it started much earlier than that.
The product of a Cypriot mother and Australian father, growing up, it was Erica who shared her father’s passion for all things film making. During high school, Erica wrote, produced filmed and directed various short films garnering both positive reviews and accolades. These experiences were integral to her future career path, which was evidenced by a Golden Guitar nomination for best music video direction for country star Felicity Urquhart's hit song “Girl in the Mall”.
After university, Erica secured a coveted position with the 7 network where she cut her teeth in the fast paced world of the newsroom. Those early years with the Seven Network proved both prolific and fruitful for Erica. While working behind the scenes of programs such as Nightly News, 11am, both the Manchester Commonwealth Games and the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games and Roy and HG’s widely popular “The Dream” show, Erica began reading the news for both 2GO and SeaFM radio stations.
Erica’s interest in on-air presenting was developed by working day in and day out with some of the best presenters in the industry.
In 2003 she successfully secured a weekly segment on Sydney Weekender, one of the most popular travel/lifestyle television programs in Australia.
Further to Erica showing off her beautiful city, she began a two year engagement with radio station Hope 103.2 as an on air presenter, spending each morning discussing current events, interviewing guests and unpacking topical lifestyle trends.
A gifted, natural communicator, businesses, charities, churches and community organisations began securing her Emcee services. Known for her warmth, humour and professionalism, Erica’s profile began to increase and soon she was accepting a multitude of media and speaking engagements including being featured in CosmoMagazine, a panel guest on Sunrise and Emcee at the prestigious NSW Tourism Awards. An accomplished vocalist, Erica has performed in an array of locales both with her band and in an acoustic or solo capacity.
In recent years Erica has returned to radio, hosting her own show on 89.9 LightFM Weekdays from 9-12 and has created an in schools program to help children learn the art of communication.
